Rated on a scale of 1-5. 1 being very poor and 5 being excellent.
The building is beautiful, the
residents overwhelmingly
positive and creative people
and the value if easily the
best for the amenities in the
city.

generally speaking a free
spirited artistic community
that thrives on input, change
and innovation.

It is a nice complex with
knowledgable staff who are
attentive to your needs. There
are always activities and
events to participate in. The
apartments themselves are
modern, clean, new, and nicely
renovated. The noise is a bit
of an issue. You have to be
able to deal with always
hearing your neighbors, below,
above and beside you. Other
then that, great place to
live. Minus the attitudes of
some of the tenants, which is
not the facilities fault.

It is a very clean place to
live. The maintenance on the
building is impeccable. I
enjoy the location because
there is so much nearby. The
front office staff is very
responsive to questions or
concerns. Sometimes, noise is
heard from other apartments.
Mostly we hear a young child
crying early in the morning,
but there are no ridiculous
parties held.

I have a beautiful new space
to live with my daughter and
to work in my studio.

Its great...just wished we had
a non paying parking on site,
and also a playground for
kids. I love the lights at
night and fountain.

The building and the grounds
are fantastic, featuring
exposed (original) brick,
hardwood floors, central
heating and A/C, a community
room with wifi, laundry
facilities and a fitness
center, and are in a
redevelopment district that
promises further improvements
in the neighborhood. Appleton
is within easy walking
distance of many area
businesses and services,
including a train station,
several highly-regarded
restaurants, a performance
center, a minor league
baseball park, a host of
museums and art galleries, and
two colleges. It is also very
close to major arteries such
as I-495, I-95 and I-93. The
building and its inner
workings were built with
energy-efficiency in mind and
it shows in our utility bill.
Since Appleton is for artists,
it does feel like a ready-made
community, although the
occupants' backgrounds are as
diverse as you would find in
any non-artist community. The
building manager and other
staff are very accessible and
friendly.
It is disappointing that the
building does not have its own
parking lot, but there is an
affordable city-owned lot one
street away.
On the downside, the building
is lacking a safe, fireproof
disposal system for chemicals
such as turpentine. Also, the
units that have garage doors
require a sacrifice in
personal privacy as the doors
are all glass.
